Dustin Zahn "Analog God" Droid Recordings DROID07 12"

America's next generation of techno producers make their Droid debut on this release. Dustin Zahn who has reincarnated himself from the stone cold sounds of labels such as Compound to the powerful yet refined style of his current releases on Drumcode and Mindshake turns in one hell of a dark builder.

"Analog God" starts off with a sharp rimshot/snare combination then adds just the right amount of Tresor style synth menace for a viciously addictive groove that doesn't stop kicking.

Kyle Geiger, also from the next breed of Drumcode, keeps things just as tough and energetic on his mix with a focus more on flanged synth hits and double bass kicks intended to keep dancers on club floors.

Droid's duo de force Drumcell and Audio Injection turn out a mix that is not for the faint of heart. Their version contains trademark elements of most Droid releases: throbbing bass, big room breakdowns, and no nonsense drum tracks.

Decimal, fresh from his break out release on Soma UK, takes Zahn's rimshot/ride cymbal groove and reconstructs it into a funked up pristine version of the original. Tiny spatial environments wash across the track and capture a similar dark vibe along the remixes.
